God Is Love — Grace Kwan

2020 is the year that people will not forget easily.  There is the global deadly pandemic and the unrests from racial injustice movements.  On the west coast, there were wildfires that erupted from California to Washington, burning millions of acres and displacing hundreds of thousands of people.  People asked, “where is God when bad things happen?”  Interestingly, people didn’t ask, “where is God when good things happen?”, did they?  The reality is that we are all sinners.  People choose not to have God in their lives and rebel against Him.  When they only look at the bad things in the world, they automatically conclude that God doesn’t care about us.  They fail to realize that God is love.  John 3:16 tells us, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” God is our Creator, the maker of heaven and earth and everything in it.  He is the almighty God, far greater than we are, yet He chose to love us first.  He loves unlike any human can love, He sacrificed His own Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in order for sinners like us to have a personal and eternal relationship with Him.  It’s a love that we will not completely understand until we get to heaven.

As God’s children, we do not need to be afraid of anything, including death, because we will not be separated from God and His love.  Romans 8:38,39 “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor things present, not things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

We are forever grateful for God’s love and the wonderful plan of salvation by confessing our sins and accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

Psalm 107:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy is everlasting.”
