Tri-City Chinese Baptist Church

10/16/2020 Communication

October 16, 2020

Dear TCCBC Church Family,

Last week I announced that the church council would hold an internet video conference after worship. Thank you for your prayers. Our meeting went very smoothly. A number of decisions were made. I would like to use this communication letter to share them with you.

First, we will hold the church anniversary celebration on November 8. Although the pandemic is still ongoing, we cannot allow everyone to attend in person at church due to government restrictions and regulations. But we will hold a live video broadcast at 9:30 in the morning that day and all programs will be presented on site. Then at 11 o’clock all Sunday school classes will meet or at another time of your choosing. The details of the celebration are still being planned and the internet link will be sent to everyone.

Traditionally, the church helps children in poor countries to receive a Christmas gift before Christmas so that they can experience the warmth and meaning of Christmas along with a presentation of the gospel. We invite everyone to participate in “Operation Christmas Child” by packing a shoebox between November 16-23 this year. Members of the mission team will explain more in the next few weeks. I believe that everyone will donate enthusiastically as in past years.

The “Heavenly Dew” magazine put out by the church every six months is expected to be published before the end of the year. This is a spiritual garden for everyone: we all need to irrigate and cultivate together. We really need brothers and sisters to share and testify the grace of the Lord with each other. You do not need to have writing talent nor are you participating in a composition contest; just share your true feelings from the heart. The purpose is to glorify God and be grateful to God! I hope brothers and sisters will eagerly contribute. Please submit your manuscripts before the end of November to Sister Sara Wei, ws30687@nullyahoo.com.

In more than two weeks, we will vote. We cannot predict who will be the future leader of the country but we believe that God is the real power holder. Here, I would like to encourage everyone again to pray for the US election and cast your vote according to the Spirit’s moving in your heart. The worst option is to not vote and leave the results to God. As the Bible says: “The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will. Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart. “(Proverbs 21:1-2 ESV)

Together sharing testimony to the Lord’s grace,

Job Lee
